Direct and Restriced Access

Details: Full Licence Courses (DAS -A1, A2 and A Licences) consist of training sessions and two Practical Tests called Modules. You must achieve a Pass in both Modules before being awarded a Licence. The First Module is conducted Off-Road and looks at your handling ability of the motorcycle. The Second Module is conducted On-Road and looks at your ability to deal with different traffic situations. You must Pass your Module 1 before being able to complete a Module 2 test.

The Direct Access course (DAS), and the Restricted Access courses (A1, and A2) differ only by age restriction and machine size. (see information page for details)
The Prices of our courses reflect the time spent training for the test in relation to the students previous experiences.

The Modules can be offered singularly if necessary; For Example, Training and Test for Module 1 has been conducted by a different training body and you have decided to come to us for the second part, Module 2. Prices can be arranged following a brief consultation to establish your requirements.

Courses Available

CBT Courses

CBT :   £140
ADDTIONAL DAYS :   £80

A full, one day course, to introduce the you to the motorcycle or scooter, and the requirements of essential clothing and equipment.
You will develop the basics of control and handling by taking a series of manoeuvres with our instructor ,who will aim to create a solid foundation of skills for you to develop further in your riding career.
Once you have reached a suitable standard and understanding of the basics, your skills are further developed in a Q & A briefing on the essential knowledge needed from the highway code.
Our briefing will give the student the necessary guidance towards 'Road Craft', which is a continuous learning curve for the rider on their competent use of the road. This improves only with time, experience and personal development.
The skills learnt are then put into practice, on the ‘Road Ride’. You will be accompanied by an instructor, in radio contact.  You will be guided through local roads dealing with situations as they develop.
Contrary to what you often read or hear, the road ride is NOT the test, it is a further development of the skills learned throughout the course, and will be used to ascertain your ability to ride independently and safely.
On completion of the course, successful students are issued the DL196 Certificate, which validates the provisional entitlement on their licence.
Additional days or extended courses may be required.
