THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED, when taking a CBT course:

It is essential that the student is able to show a working knowledge of the Highway Code.
There are learning aids available that include;
The Highway Code, Theory test, Learning to Ride, Becoming a Better Motorcyclist publications, as well as Apps for Apple and Android devices. We also offer the safer driving for life E learning module developed to enable new road users / CBT student to develop the necessary road craft and theoretical knowledge to complete the course. The link to the E learning module is found on the booking confirmation email sent for all courses.

We do provide an element within the CBT course focused on the Highway Code and Road Craft in a Q & A format to help develop the required knowledge for the new rider.

TERMS of COMPLETION for a CBT COURSE.:

The Theory test qualification is not required for a CBT course.

The CBT Trainee rider must be able to show learning has taken place to enable the instructor to complete the road ride part of the course. Trainee’s may be asked to return to complete the CBT course if the Instructor is not satisfied with the progress made in relation to Element C, D, and E of the course. Decisions to not issue a DL196 certificate (CBT completion certificate) are based on the safety of the individual and whether an independence is demonstrated in riding with control when either in the off-road element or when dealing with traffic conditions on the road element of the course.
Further training will be discussed and booked according to your requirements. Charges apply.
